She was born on 8th August 1989 in a Maratha family in Pandharpur, Maharashtra, India. Later, she was brought up in Pune, India. She is now 32 years old. No information is available regarding her parents.
From early childhood, Prajakta started learning Bharatanatyam Dance. With her excellent performance, she got the recognition in Bharatnatyam from Akhil Bhartiya Gandhara Mahavidyalaya and also achieved her “Visharad ” (mastery)in this dance form.
Later, she graduated and pursued her Master’s from Lalit Kala Kendra of Pune University. Even, she established herself as a university topper.

At the age of 19, she made her film debut with the Marathi film “Taandala- Ek Mukhavta” as a child artist in 2008. Before entering the film industry, she appeared for the first time in a TV show” Dholkichya Talawar“, and also choreographed the Diwali Special Episode of “Dim-Duma-Dum “,aired on DD Shahadryi.
Then, she participated in Star Plus’s talent hunt show” Kya Masti Kya Dhoom” and was awarded the first prize. Then, in 2011, she portrayed the role of Savitri in Star Pravah’s “Suvashini”.After that, in 2013, she featured the role of Suman in the film” Kho-kho”.
In the same year, she took part in Zee Marathi’s reality show “Eka Peksha Ek-Apsara Ali” as a contestant and had the role of Meghna Desai in the show “Julun Yeti Reshimgathi” to play. In the next year, she appeared as Bijli in the Marathi film “Sangharsh”.
After 3 years, she debuted in the role of Girija in the film” Hampi” and in the role of Nupur in Zee Marathi’s” Naktichya Lagnala Yaycha Ha!”.
Between 2018-2020, she made her colorful appearance in the films such as “Ani..Dr.Kashinath Ghanekar“(Asha Kele), “Party”(Arpita),” Dokyala Shot“(Subbulakshmi), and so on.
In the meantime, in 2018, she started anchoring the program “Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra”, aired on Sony Marathi( till today). Up next, she worked as a host in Zee Marathi’s “Mast Maharashtra “ in 2020.
Thereafter, in 2021, she worked in three films – “Luck Down”, and “Pandu”.In that year, she hosted the show “Indian Idol Marathi”, telecast on Sony Marathi.
Recently, in 2022, she got featured as Shrimant Bhavanibai Bandal in the film “Pawankhind“.
