Pichai Sundararajan, widely known as Sundar Pichai, was born on July 12, 1972, in Madurai, Tamilnadu. He belonged to a lower-middle-class family.

Sundar Pichai’s Biography:

Sundar`s father Regunatha Pichai worked as an electrical engineer for the British Conglomerate Company and also ran a factory that produced electrical components. Lakshmi Pichai, his mother used to do the work of a stenographer before having children. Srinivasan Pichai is his younger brother.

He was devoid of the luxury of watching television or traveling by car in his childhood. When he was 12, his father bought a landline phone and for the first time, he became familiar with technology. Moreover, he had an amazing skill of memorizing and remembering numbers. In fact, he could remember all the numbers he dialed.

Sundar Pichai’s Education:

Sundar excelled in studies at school and completed schooling in Jawahar Vidyalaya, affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education. He passed the 12^th grade from Vana Vani Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai, India. Therefore, he entered the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India, and earned a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Later, he migrated to the US and initially planned to pursue a PhD degree from the prestigious Standford University. However, he dropped the plan and joined Applied Materials at Silicon Valley Semiconductor Maker Company as an engineer and a product manager but he did work there for a very short time.

After that, he decided to complete his M.B.A. from the Wharton School, Pennsylvania.

There he was chosen as Siebel Scholar. As a result, he received a $35000 award for his outstanding academic achievements and demonstrated leadership.

He was also chosen as Palmer Scholar. Palmer Scholarship is a mission to support underrepresented students to overcome financial, cultural and social barriers in their pursuit of higher education.

After that, he completed his M.B.A and was appointed as a management consultant at Mckinsey & Company.

Sundar had to tread uneven roads before making it to the top as the current CEO of Google. He had to struggle with his lonely days as migrant. Therefore, he needed a strong mental support. His former girlfriend and present wife Anjali played a vital role in all his endeavors. Anjali (born on 11 January 1971) is an Indian business person and chemical engineer. Anjali and Sundar finally got married and settled in the US. They started their family there. They are the proud parents of 2 children. In 2004 Sundar joined Google. In Google, he led the product management and innovation sector. His efforts to innovate a suite of Google’s client software products including Google Chrome and Chrome OS are remarkable. Back in the year 2006, almost everyone used Internet Explorer but Sundar came up with a new response.
