She was born into a Hindu family on 25 March 1984 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Hence Nyla Usha’s religion is Hinduism.
She is now about 38 years old. She is the only child of Gopakumar and Usha Kumari. At present, she lives in Al Ain, Dubai, UAE.
She completed her early education at the Holy Angel’s Convent, Trivandrum. Later, she graduated from All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram, India. Her passion for acting grew strong at a very tender age.
Nyla Usha Career:-
At the age of 20, she went to Dubai in 2004 and started to work as an RJ on the radio station Hit 97.6. After a few years, in 2013, she got the chance to play the lead female role in the Malayalam film” Kunjananthante Keda”, directed by Salim Ahamed.
Here she acted as an unhappy married woman, Chithira, opposite Mammootty. In the same year, she appeared in the film “Punyalan Agarbattis” as Anu, a vibrant girl. Her acting in this role brought her into the limelight and, therefore, she got mass recognition.
Then, in 2014, she featured the role of Sana Ibrahim in Aashiq Abu’s crime film “Gangster”. The next year, she acted as Sherin Thomas IPS in a thriller movie entitled “Fireman”, directed by Deepu Karunakaran. After that, her cameo appearances in the movies like “Pathemari” (as an RJ) and “Pretham” ( as Maya) smoothened her career journey.
Between 2016-17, she appeared as a host in a Malayalam show “Minute to Win It”, aired on Mazhavil Manorama. Thereafter, in 2018, she appeared as Effymol in the film “Diwanjimoola Grand Pix”. In the following year, she played the role of a TV channel executive Arundhati in the action drama called ” Lucifer”, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Up next, she also played the role of Mariam in another action movie named “Porinju Mariam Jose”, directed by Joshiy in 2019. In the same year, she was seen in the film “Priyan Ottathilanu” as Priscilla.
Recently, in 2022, apart from acting, she appeared as a host in many shows such as “Colors Food Trial “(aired on Colors TV), “Snehathode Veetil Ninnu” ( telecasted on Mazhavil Manorama), “Global Greetings” ( on Asianet).

For her excellent acting skills, she got several prestigious awards throughout her life. As an RJ, she received “Masala Award” in 2012. The following year, she was honored with “Asiavision Award ” in the category of Best Female Debut for the film “Kunjananthante Keda”. In 2017, she got “Flowers TV Awards”. For the movie “Porinju Mariam Jose“, she also achieved “Vanitha Film Awards” in the category of Best Character Actress in 2019.
