Reema was born in a middle-class family on 29 October 1981 in Kolkata, India. At present, she is about 40 years old. She completed her early education at St.Thomas Girls School in Kidderpore, Kolkata. Then her family shifted to Mumbai. From childhood, she dreamed of becoming an actress. After settling in Mumbai, she fulfilled her long-cherished dream.

In Mumbai, Reema started her career as a model and participated in many advertising campaigns. She then upgraded her career from modeling to acting. In 2000, she made her debut in the film industry with a Telegu film “Chitram”, in which she acted opposite the famous actor Uday Kiran. After that, she appeared in the Tamil movie “Minnale”, which was a mega-hit at the box office.
In 2001, she paired with Uday Kiran in the film “Manasantha Nuvve “as Anu(Renu).In the same year, Reema entered the Bollywood industry with the film “Hum Ho Gaye Apka”.Though it was a flop movie, she got positive comments for her brilliant performance. The following year, she played the role of Charulata in “Seema Simchan,”Asha in “Adriatam”, and Anjali in “Bagavathi”.
Up next, in 2003, she was nominated for Filmfare Award for best-supporting actress for appearing as Swapna in the Tamil film “Dhool”.In the same year, she again acted in the Bollywood industry with the film “Jaal: the Trap”.
Here she played the role of Anita Chowdhury and for her excellent skill and performance, she achieved fame and popularity. In the meantime, she showed up in two movies (Tamil and Telugu) –“Veeda”( Swapna)& “Neetho Vasta”(Asha).
In “Enakku 20 Unakku 18(Priyanka)”, she appeared especially as a guest. Her special appearance in songs like “May Maasam “in “Jay Jay”(2003), “Mirapakaya Bajji” in “Anji”(2004), and “Jugnu ki Payal bandhi hai” in “Aan: Men at work” enriched her and polished her skills of acting. Even, this year, Reema stepped into the Tollywood industry as Rajlakshmi in the film “Iti Srikanta”.For the second time, she was nominated for Filmfare Award for best actress for singing in the movie “Chellamae”(Mythili).
In 2005, she also acted as Pooja in the film “News”, which was the Kannada film debut of her career. Between 2005-2009, she left her impression in many films with different roles like “Malamal Weekly”(Sukumari), “Bangaram”(reporter), “Thimiru”,(Srimathy), “Vallavan”(Geeta), “Rendu” (Velli), “Yamagola Malli Modalayanindi” (Vijayanti) and so on.
Later, in 2010, she successfully appeared in the role of Anitha Pandian in the Tamil film “Aayirathil Oruvan“.For this movie, she not only got Ananda Viketan Cinema Awards for best Villain but also got nominations for Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Tamil), Vijay Award for Best Actress, and Vijay Award for Best Villain.
That year, she had to play the role of Jhamunia in the Hindi film “Aakrosh “.Afterward, Reema as Balatriputra Sundari in the Tamil film “Mugguru“(2011) and as Durga in the Hindi film “Ganges of Wasseeypur-Part 1&2″ (2012) excelled in acting.
But,she ended her career after she got married in 2012 . Her last Tamil film was “Sattam Oru Irattarai”, where she portrayed the role of Kaushalya Raman.
