Prateik was born on 28th November 1986 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He belongs to a family of legendary actors of the 80s. His father Raj Babbar is a famous Indian actor, whereas her mother, Smita Patel was a renowned Indian actress. After his birth, his mother died due to severe labour pain. As a result, his father again married another actress Nadira Babbar. That’s why his maternal grandparents looked after him in Mumbai.
He pursued his undergraduate studies at Arya Vidya Mandir, Bandra, Mumbai. Then, he joined Jai Hind College for higher education. But, due to some unknown reasons, he left the college. Next, he completed his graduation from St. Andrew College, Bandra, Mumbai.
