Dhruv was born on 23 September 1995 in a well-settled celebrity family in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. He is now about 27 years old. His father is Chiyaan Vikram, a famous South Indian actor. In contrast, his mother Shailaja Balakrishna is a homemaker.
His grandfather Vinod Raj was an actor in the Tamil film industry. He has an elder sister named Akshita who has recently married Manu Ranjith, the grandson of the famous politician Karunanithi.
He completed his early schooling at American International School, Chennai. As he belonged to a celebrity family, he also desired to become an actor since childhood. As a result, he was admitted to the Lee Strasberg & Film Institute where he pursued his graduation.
