She was born into a Sikh family on 5th July 1991 at Patran, Sangrur, in Punjab. She is now about 31 years old. There is no information available regarding her parents.
She completed her early education at a Government public school in her hometown. Then, she pursued her B.A degree from a college (name not known). Since her early childhood, she was passionate about dancing and singing.
When she was a school student, She took part in every school competition. Though some of her relatives and neighbors did not like her passion, her parents always supported her. Professor Guru Pratap Gill, who was her music teacher, guided her very carefully. That’s why she became confident about becoming a singer.

At the age of 19, in 2010, she got the chance to participate in the music reality show “Awaz Punjab Di 3”. Then, she also appeared in another music reality show entitled “Voice of Punjab” as a participant and became the first runner-up in the show.
After that, in 2013, for the Punjabi movie “Daddy Cool Munde Fool”, she made her first debut song “Classmate”, which was a duet performance with Jassi Gill.
Thereafter, her song “Pizza Hut” featuring Desi Crew and Bunty Bains stirred the box office and it brought her into the limelight. Consequently, she stepped into the Punjabi Music industry with the active cooperation of Bunty Bains who was a renowned Punjabi lyricist.
The Punjabi actor Kartar Cheema whom Kaur B knew earlier acted as a link to introduce her to Bunty Bains. Thus, Baljinder Kaur turned herself into Kaur B after the suggestion of Bunty Bains and as a result, the Punjabi music industry got a new singer.
