Shivangi Kolhapure is a renowned Indian playback singer and actress. She is the wife of famous Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor.

Shivangi Kolhapure Biography:

Shivangi Kolhapure was born on 12 March 1964 in Mumbai, India. She belongs to a Marathi Hindu family. Her father Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure was a classical singer. On the other hand, her mother Anupama Kolhapure worked as ground staff in Air India. Shivangi is the sister of Padmini Kolhapure, a popular Bollywood actress. Her younger sister Tejaswini Kolhapure is an Indian model. Shivangi’s parental grandmother was the half-sister of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. Thus, she is remotely connected to Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

Shivangi married the famous Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor on 13 December 1982. It was rumored that the couple eloped to get married. She was only 18 years then. Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi have crossed long 38 years together in their conjugal relationship. She has two children- son Siddhanth Kapoor and daughter Shraddha Kapoor.

 Shivangi Kolhapure Movies:

During the 1980s Shivangi was a known face in the Bollywood film industry. In 1976’s Do Anjaane she made her first appearance on the silver screen. Later, in 1978 she was seen in Saajan Bina Suhagan. Although Shivangi appeared in the aforementioned movies, She officially debuted in the movie Kismat  ( 1980). In the movie, she shared the screen with Mithun Chakraborty, Ranjeeta, and her husband Shakti Kapoor. Thereafter, She appeared in the movies like Lootmaar, Vidhata, etc.

 Personal Life:

Shivangi’s love story was interesting. She met Shakti Kapoor on the set of the movie Kismat. Then, they fell in love. For both their families were against their relationship, the couple had to wait for two years to get married. Eventually, they eloped and married in a court.

In 1984 she gave birth to Siddhanth Kapoor. He is now a successful actor. Later, in 1987 she gave birth to a baby girl. Her name is Shraddha Kapoor who is one of the leading actresses in the Bollywood film industry. Shivangi bade farewell to the film industry after her marriage. Besides being an actress, She lent her voice to  a lot of successful albums like- Dwijen Mukherjee  (1971), Tere Sur Mere Geet  (1997), Himalay Se Ooncha  (2006), Ek Cup Yaadein  (2017), Papa Dear- celebrating father’s day  (2017)
