Franklyn Roy Bruno commonly known as Frank Bruno was born on 16 November 1961 at Hammersmith, London. His father’s name is Robert Bruno and Lynette Bruno was his mother. He has 5 siblings. He is the youngest of them all.
His siblings are Michael, Eddie, Faye, Joanne, and Angela. Frank, unfortunately, lost his father in 1975. His mother Lynette was a district nurse and a pentecostal lay preacher who brought up all the children with utmost care.
His education began at Swaffield Primary and Oak Hill Schools, Sussex. There he started preparing for football and made himself an excellent athlete. He began his practice at Wandsworth Boys Club just at the age of 9.
Career
Frank started his career in football while he was still studying at school. His boxing career started at Wandsworth Boys Club. He was only 9 years old then. He made a record 20-1 defeating Joe Chrisle of Philip Game in Amateur Boxing Club.
His amateur boxing career ended when he was 18. He was considered the youngest Boxing Amateur British Title Holder.
In 1980 Bruno became a professional boxer by winning knockouts. Soon he came to the forefront as a boxing champ. Many international Magazines like Ring Magazine, KO Magazine, etc started publishing articles about him. He recorded 40 wins and 5 losses.
He beat many world title boxing candidates such as Belgian champion Rudy Gauge, British contenders Tony Moore and Eddie Nielson, and peripheral contender Floyd Cunnings during the pick of his career.
