Dimple Kapadia is a Veteran Indian actress. She debuted in the Bollywood film industry with the iconic movie ‘Bobby’ in 1973. In her decade long acting career she appeared in numerous Bollywood movies and won several national and international awards and titles.

Dimple Kapadia was born into a wealthy Gujarati family on 8 June 1957 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father Chunnibhai Kapadia was a renowned Gujarati entrepreneur and her mother Bitti Kapadia was a homemaker. Her siblings were three in number. Her siblings Simple (an actress), Reem and brother Suhail have already joined the vast majority.
She is now about 66 years old (age as of 2023). She is approximately 161 cm(5’3″) tall and her approximate body weight 59 kg. Her figure measurement are 35-28 -36. Her eyes and hair are brown. She follows Hinduism.
Sources reveal that she attended St. Joseph’s Convent High school in Mumbai but her educational qualifications are not known.

When Dimple was only 15 years old, she married late actor Rajesh Khanna in 1973. Her marriage ceremony took place six months before her debut film, Bobby(released in 1973). It was the legendary actor and director Raj Kapoor who introduced Dimple to the film industry. He offered her the lead role in the 1973 teen romance movie Bobby. Now Dimple became the first Indian actress to show off a bikini in her debut film.
Her performance in the cult classic movie ‘Bobby’ is considered one of the best female debuts of all time in Hindi cinema, earning her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. After her debut film, she remained absent for long 12 years from the film industry. There was a rumor that her husband late actor Rajesh Khanna forbade her to act in films. However, a ‘film-crazy ‘ Dimple made a stunning comeback in 1984 with the superhit movie ‘Sagar’.

She divorced the late actor Rajesh Khanna in April 1982. She has two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna (with the late actor Rajesh Khanna). After her divorce, she (it was rumored) had affairs with actors late Rishi Kapoor and Sunny Deol.
In September 2017 Dimple and Sunny Deol, whose relationship in the 1980s was an open secret, were spotted at a bus stop in London.
Apart from acting she shares a close bond with her son-in-law Akshay Kumar and her grandchildren.
