Amala Paul is a well-known South Indian actress who predominantly works in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam movies. She has been serving the South Indian film industry for more than a decade.

Some of her popular movies are   “Neelathamara”, “Sindhu Samaveli”, “Mynaa”,  “Bejawada”, “Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Yeppadi”, “Thalaivaa”, “Mili”,” Hebbuli”, “Yutty Story”, “Cadaver” etc. In addition to this, she is a familiar face in the domain of web series which include “Kadi Yedamaithe”,Ranjish Hi Sahi”,” Victim: Who is Next? “ etc. At present, her appearance in Star Vijay’s  Television show “Roju Vootla Party”  deserves special mention.

 

Amala Paul Biography:-

She was born on October 26,,1991 into a Christian family in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. She is now about 31 years old.  According to her, her father Paul Varghese was a theatre artist who performed various roles in theatres in different colleges, while her mother Annive Paul was a singer. She has a brother named Abijith Paul who is also associated with the film industry.

She did her schooling at Nirmala Higher Secondary School, Aluva. Then she completed her higher secondary education at Aluva Government Higher Secondary.

After one year break, she was admitted to St. Teresa’s College and pursued her graduation in Communicative English. Since childhood, she was passionate about acting and modeling. During college life, she chose modeling as a means of earning. Although her father was reluctant and forbade Amala to pursue a career in acting, she, with the help of her brother, somehow managed to convince him.

 

AmalaPaul Movies:-

In 2009, Malayalam director Lal Jose was deeply fascinated by her modeling career and gave her a chance to play a supporting role in his remake of  “Neelathamara”. At the age of 18, she began her career as Beena in this Malayalam film, though this film was unsuccessful. Then, she debuted in the Tamil film industry with the film ” Veerasekaran”  as Sugandhi. In that year, she appeared in another Tamil movie “Sindhu Samaveli” in the role of Sundari who had an illicit relationship with her father-in-law.

Here, she exchanged her onscreen name to Anakha due to the insistence of the director Samy. After the failure of the film, she renamed it again and kept the original name. The same year, she also signed for a romantic drama film “Mynaa “, directed by Prabhu Solomon.

The next year, she played the role of Aishwarya in the  Malayalam film “Ithu Nammude Katha”; Kavitha in a Tamil film ” Vikadakavi ” and Shwetha Rajendran in another one named “Deiva Thirumangal”.  That year, she stepped into the Telugu film industry with the film “Bejawadaas Geetanjali”.

After that, in 2012, she appeared in two Tamil films — “Vettai” ( Jayanthi) & “Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal” ( Charulatha). She also made a significant appearance as Parvati in ” Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppedi” ( Love Affair), a bilingual film in Tamil & Telugu. Besides, in 2012,  she was seen in 3 Malayalam films such as “Akasathinte Niram”( Young Lady), “Run Baby Run” (Renuka) & “Nayak”( Nandini).

The following year, her appearance in the Tamil film “Thalaivaa” as ACP Meera Narayanan is remarkable. Besides, she portrayed the role of Irene Gardner in the Malayalam film “Oru Indian Pranayakatha” and the role of Komali Sankarabharanam in the Telugu film “Iddarammayilatho”.

Thereafter, in 2014, she acted in two Tamil films, such as “Nimirndhu Nil” ( Poomari)  & “Velaiyilla Pattathari “( Dr. Shalini). She also made her cameo appearance in two films — “Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam” & “Iyobinte Pusthakam”. Then, she appeared in the lead role in the Malayalam film ” Mili” and Anjali Menon in another film “Laila O Laila”.

That year, her acting as Indumati in the Telugu film “Janda Pai Kapiraju” and Venba in the Tamil film “Pasanga 2” left a deep and lasting impression on the minds of the audience. The next year, she made her Kannada movie debut with the film “Hebbuli” as Nandini.

Between 2016 to 2019, she made her presence in many films, such as “Amma Kanakku”( Shanti Gopal), “2 Penkuttikal “( Aswathy), “Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum” (Jia), “Achayans”( Rita), “Velaiyilla Pattadhari” 2(Dr. Shalini Raghuvaran), “Thiruttu Payale 2” ( Agalya Selvam), “Bhaskar Oru Rascal “(Anu), “Ratson” ( Vijaya Lakshmi),” Aadai”( Kamini), etc.

Up next, in 2021, she portrayed the role of Mrinalini in an anthology film “Kutty Kutty”. In the same year, she was also seen in the Netflix Anthology film “Pitta Kathalu” as Meera.  Recently,  alongside working as a producer in the Tamil film “Cadaver“, she has played the role of Dr. Badhra Thangavel.

 

 Amala Paul Upcoming movie:-

Amala will be seen in the Malayalam film “Aadujeevitam” in the role of Sainu in 2023.

 

Amala Paul TV Shows:-

In 2021, she stepped into the Television industry with the  Telugu web series “Kudi Yedamaithe” as CI Durga Goud, aired on Aha. Recently, in 2022, she has also kept her glorious presence in Voot’s Hindi web series “Ranjish Hi Sahi” as Amma Parvez. Besides, she worked as Anjana in a Tamil web series “Victim: Who is Next ? “, telecasted on Sony LIV. In 2022, she also appeared in the Tamil TV show “Raju Vootla Party”, aired on Star Vijay.

 

Amala Paul Husband:-

While working in ” Deiva Thirumangal” in 2011, she fell in love with the film director A.L. Vijay. Consequently,  the couple got engaged on 7th June 2014 in Aluva, Kochi, and tightened their relationship with the bond of marriage on 12 June 2014 at Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall, Chennai. Unfortunately, they got separated in 2017.

In 2018, she was behind the bars for some days for tax evasion. She became depressed after the death of her father (due to cancer) in January 2020.

 

Amala Paul Net Worth:-

According to sources, she has a net worth that is estimated at around 2-3 million USD((approx/as of 2022).
