Born into a poor family, Aakriti has one married sister and a younger brother. Despite the challenges she faced, Aakriti has always been a high achiever, consistently topping her classes in both school and college. She graduated from Delhi University after completing her 12th grade.
Initially, Aakriti and her family never imagined that she would become an IAS officer. She had a stable private job, but the desire to serve her country as an IAS officer took hold, and she embarked on her UPSC journey. Balancing her job with UPSC preparation proved difficult, so Aakriti made the bold decision to leave her job and pursue her dream without the aid of coaching.

Aakriti’s journey was not without setbacks. In her first five attempts at the UPSC examination, she was unable to clear the prelims. These continuous failures took a toll on her mental health, but she refused to give up. Instead, she reevaluated her approach and made significant changes to her UPSC strategy.
Her perseverance paid off, as Aakriti cracked the UPSC Prelims, Mains, and interviews in one go during her sixth attempt. Today, Aakriti Sethi stands as a shining example of determination and hard work, inspiring countless others to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles they face.
