Voter awareness through sand sculpture

Vijayawada: Famous sand sculptor Akunuru Balaji Varaprasad built sand sculpture at Dr BR Ambedkar Smritivanam right here on Monday to convey awareness amongst voters in an modern way.

District collector S Dilli Rao visited the sand sculpture and said that they had undertaken modern ideas to provide recognition amongst voters to take part in the democratic course of action of elections.

As component of the Systematic Voter Schooling and Electoral Participation programme, a goal has been set to just take the voting share up to 85 for every cent in the district and 80 for each cent in the city areas, the collector said.

Collector inaugurated the sand sculpture together with joint collector Dr P Sampat Kumar and other people.

Dilli Rao stated that he was joyful to see the great sand sculpture which will carry recognition amid voters. The sculpture details out that the vote is not for sale and affirms that ‘I will voter compulsorily.’ Joint collector Dr P Sampat Kumar claimed that SVEEP programmes had been undertaken to deliver awareness amid voters particularly in the city spots in the district. He referred to as upon people today to work out their appropriate to vote with the genuine spirit of democracy. Sand sculptor Balaji Varaprasad reported that he belonged to Pallevada of Kaikaluru mandal in Krishna district and settled in Vijayawada. He had realized a number of countrywide and intercontinental awards in sand sculpting. He was joyful that he was portion of the recognition programme for escalating the vote share.
