Virat Kohli post-retirement plans spell disappearance for fans

Virat Kohli’s comments also hint at a future where cricket takes a backseat, allowing him to explore other avenues once his playing days are over.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and India Cricket Team legend Virat Kohli has shed light on his motivation behind his relentless pursuit of excellence on the cricket field. In a recent interview, Kohli emphasized his desire to leave no room for regrets when his playing career eventually comes to an end.

Virat Kohli: Avoiding “What Ifs”

“As a sportsman,” Kohli explained, “we all have an end date to our careers.” He elaborated on his approach, stating, “I don’t want to finish by thinking ‘what if I had done this on that day.” This philosophy underscores his commitment to giving his all in every match, ensuring he enters retirement with a sense of accomplishment.

Virat Kohli’s complete dedication till retirement

Virat Kohli‘s determination translates into a singular focus on the present. “Once I am done,” he declared, “I will be gone, you won’t see me for a while.” This suggests a complete withdrawal from the cricketing spotlight after retirement, allowing him to dedicate himself to other pursuits.

Virat Kohli: “It’s very simple. I think as a sportsman, we do have a end date to our careers. So I am just going backwards. I dont want to finish my career thinking: ‘Oh what if I have done this on that particular day’ because I can’t keep going one and on forever. So It’s just about not leaving any undone business behind and not having any regrets later, which I am very sure of I won’t. Once I am done, I will be gone, you won’t see me for a while. So I want to give my everything till the time I play and that’s the only thing that keeps me going.”

RCB stalwart and IPL Record Breaker

Currently competing in IPL 2024 for RCB, Kohli recently achieved a remarkable feat. He became the first player ever to play 250 matches for a single IPL franchise.

This achievement adds to his long list of accolades, which includes being the highest run-scorer and highest century-maker in IPL history.

His fans will undoubtedly be eager to witness his continued dominance in the ongoing IPL season and beyond. However, his comments also hint at a future where cricket takes a backseat, allowing him to explore other avenues once his playing days are over.
