Despite being a weekday, the sports biographical drama, Chandu Champion, made Rs 6.01 crore on day 4. This brings the total collection of the film to a solid Rs 30.12 crore. The film witnessed the highest collection on day 3 which amounted to Rs. 11.01 crore. The box office collection proves that the film is on a good run. The inspiring film will do wonders if maintained the same on the weekdays.

Murlikant Petkar was born on October 13, 1944, in Peth Islampur, Sangli district of Maharashtra. He embarked on an unbelievable journey. Petkar joined the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) in 1965 as a tradesman. Murlikant Petkar is India’s first Paralympic Games gold medallist. At the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Germany, he won gold. He also established a world record in the 50-meter freestyle swimming competition, clocking in at 37.33 seconds.

Murlikant is a superb swimmer and sprinter who has advanced to the finals of the javelin, slalom, and precision javelin throw events. He was a skilled fighter who won a medal at the 1964 International Services Sports Meet in Tokyo, Japan. His transfer to Jammu and Kashmir was motivated by this feat. However, during the 1965 war with Pakistan, an aerial bombardment of his camp left him disabled for the rest of his life due to nine bullet wounds.
