Shivaleeka came of a Hindu family. Her father’s name is Sumir Oberoi who is a businessman. Her mother’s name is Sarina Oberoi who is a school teacher by profession. She is the granddaughter of the producer Mahavir Oberoi. He produced the Bollywood film Sheba and Hercules in 1967. Though her parents are from Mumbai, her grandfather was from Punjab. Shivaleeka’s father lost his father at an early age. She belongs to a well-educated family. Her parents admitted her to a reputed school named Arya Vidya Mandir School, Mumbai, and Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai. After completing her schooling she was admitted to a college under Mumbai University. She studied there English and psychology. Later, she earned a 3 months diploma course in Acting from Anupam Kher’s Acting Institute.

After that,she debuted in Bollywood with the movie Yeh Saali Aashiqui. Opposite Vardhan Puri, grandson of Amiresh Puri. Cherag Ruparel was the director of the movie. The film was produced by Pen India Ltd. and Amrish Puri. Next, she undertook the project of Khuda Hafiz. She appeared in the film with her male counterpart Vidyut Jamwal.
