India's armless archer aims for Paralympic gold

Much fancied Para Archer Sheetal Devi lost in the round of 16 of the women’s compound open event at the Paralympics 2024 while Sarita lost in the quarters on Saturday.

Playing against Tokyo silver medalist Mariana Zuniga of Chile in the round of 16, Sheetal shot 137 and lost by one point.

Sheetal shot a poor shot of 7 in the second end, which cost her the tie.

It was a neck-and-neck affair for the duo in the next eight arrows before Mariana edged out Sheetal in the final arrow by shooting a 9 as the Paralympics debutant Sheetal slipped to the 8-ring to lose by one point.
