Rimo Saha becomes first Indian to conquer Robben Island to Blaauwberg swim

Kolkata boy Rimo Shah has etched his title in heritage by becoming the first Indian Para-swimmer to complete the challenging journey from Robben Island to Blaauwberg.

This amazing accomplishment not only highlighted Saha’s excellent talent and determination but also showcased the indomitable spirit of Indian para-athletes on the international phase.

Reflecting on his monumental accomplishment, Rimo Saha, supported by the Shrachi Team, reported, “Embarking on a journey echoing the resilience of Nelson Mandela, I am happy to share that I am the initially Indian and Bengal’s para swimmer, who has conquered the tough waters all around Robben Island. Battling h2o temperatures as reduced as 12-14°C, and navigating as a result of the realms of jellyfish, blue whales, and sunfish – this open up-drinking water swim was no ordinary feat.

There was this genuine anxiety that I would not get injured if I encountered them accidentally. Also, the authentic threat of swimming in these cold waters is hypothermia. This was enjoying in the back again of my thoughts. I desperately desired to thrive and didn’t want to miss out on out due to the fact of this.”

Shah expressed gratitude to folks who have been supportive of him.

“Heartfelt gratitude to my household, my coach, my observer and captain because of whom I am again in Kolkata immediately after the thriving swim. Also grateful to Shrachi Group’s MD Mr. Rahul Todi’s unwavering aid – with out him, reaching this desire and conquering these kinds of distant waters would not have been attainable,” he said.

Commenting on the historic achievement, Todi, Handling Director of Shrachi Group, claimed, “Rimo’s achievement is a historic minute for Indian sporting activities. Each Indian have to be proud of this accomplishment. This was likely Rimo’s toughest swim due to the fact of the tough sea and exceptionally chilly water.
