Bengaluru: It was as close to Olympic qualification as it could have got when Praveen Chithravel jumped 17.12m in his fourth endeavor at the men’s Triple Bounce at the Indian Grand Prix 1 on Tuesday.
Competing in a moderate area with Commonwealth medalist Eldhose Paul, Praveen started with a leap of 16.49m in the time-opening soar.
Praveen’s fourth try of 17.12m was just .10m shorter of the 2024 Paris Olympic qualification mark of 17.22m. Just after becoming agonizingly near to the mark, Praveen is assured of breaching the mark at the impending Federation Cup in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking about the qualification mark and the problems, Praveen explained,” It is not difficult but it does consider time. I can undoubtedly qualify for the Olympics in the future Federation Cup.”
Out of five genuine tries on the working day, Praveen crossed 16m thrice beginning with a 16.49m jump, crossed 17m when, and had a weak attempt of 15.66m in his previous endeavor.

Praveen experienced a great season in 2023 and crossed the 17m mark thrice. He broke the nationwide file with a leap of 17.37m and also received the bronze medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
With the Paris Olympics qualification in sight, Praveen Chitravel will have extra competitions to achieve the mark. Federation Cup Senior Athletics is scheduled from 12th to 15th following month in which Praveen will concentrate on the qualification.
