Actor Prakash Raj
At the beginning of his career, he struggled a lot to make ends meet. He acted in more than 2000 Street Shows as a street artist. At that time he received monthly Rs. 300/ as remuneration. However, he refused to surrender to his fate and continued his journey as a Street actor. Eventually, he succeeded in becoming a polished theatre artist, and therefore, he joined Ravindra Kalakhestra, a center for musical and theatrical training Institute in Bangalore. After that, he started to appear on the screen through serials. He debuted in the Television serial Bisilu Kudure, a Kannada serial aired on Doordarshan. Then he appeared in the serial Guddada Bhootha, a thriller. The whole storyline was based on the lifestyle of the Tulu people in Tulu Nadu. Prakash was the lead actor in it. In the same year, he worked on a biopic named Iruvar. It was directed by Mani Ratnam. This film was about the lives of M.G.Ramachandran, M. Karunanidhi, and J.Jaylalithaaj.Prakash’s acting in the movie started to increase his fan following. Again, the movie brought him National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. He was also cast in many Malayalam movies like The Prince, Indraprastham, etc. Apart from all these, there were lots of other Malayalam movies where he acted as a supporting actor. Up next, he acted in many Telugu films. In 1998 he acted in the Telugu film Antahpuram (1998). He was credited with a National Film Award & Special Jury Award/ Special Mention. In 2008 he appeared in a Tamil film Saroja directed by veteran director Venkat Prabhu. Above all, he also showed up in several Hindi movies. Be it, an antagonist or a protagonist, he is adept at portraying them all very well. He appeared in the Bollywood movie Khakee with the Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Tushar Kapoor. Here he portrayed the role of A C.P. Shrikant Naidu with artistry and dexterity. Next, he shifted his interest to play the role of villain in movies. His role as a villain in the Salman Khan starer movie wanted was praiseworthy. Thereafter, he consecutively appeared in a villainous role in several movies. For example, he appeared as Jaikant Shikre in Singham (2011)). Therefore, he entertained the audience with his negative role as a corrupt politician and businessman. Next year he played the role of the antagonist in Dabaang 2 replacing Sonu Sood who was the chief antagonist in Dabaang (2010). In this movie, he portrayed the narrative of the most corrupted politician Thakur Bachcha Singh.
Next, he appeared in the movie Mumbai Mirror. Here he had the role of Shetty to play. Next, he acted in K.S.Ravikumar directed movie Police Giri. Sanju baba(Sanjay Dutt) was the antagonist of the movie. He also acted with the megastar Kamal Hassan in several movies. He shared the screen with him in Tamil comedy-drama Vasool Raja MBBS(2004). It was a remake of the Sanjay Dutt starrer Munnabhai MBBS (2003).
He got critical acclamation for his acting in the movie. The movie was commercially successful. Next in the year 2015, he was seen with Kamal Hassan in the movie Toonga Vanam. It was released both in Tamil and in Telugu language. In 2018, he appeared in the political action movie Bharat Ane Nenu. It was a Telugu movie and Koratala Siva was the director. Here he appeared opposite the South Indian superstar Mahesh babu. Prakash Raj showed up in a supporting role here.

In Tamil he produced several movies.They are –Dhaya, Naam (2003),Azhagiya Theeye (2004),Kanda Naal Mudhai (2005), Velli Thirai(2008) etc.He also produced numerous movies other than in Tamil language. Naanu Nanna Kanasu (2010) was his first produced movie in Kannada language.He was also the producer of a Kannada movie entitled Putta Kkana Highway .He got the National Award for the movie.In between 2012-and 14 he produced movies like Payanam(2019),Mayilu and Dhoni Gouravam was a Telugu movie which was also produced by him.
Prakash Raj Wife Pony Verma
In 1994 Prakash married Lalitha Kumar .He is the father of two daughters .They are Meghana and Pooja .He had a son named Sidhu .Unfortunately, Sidhu died in the year 2004.Prakash and his wife got separated in the year 2009. Later, in the year 2010, he married Pony Verma , a choreographer(24August,2010).Now the couple has a son named Vedhanth .Vedhanth was born in the year 2015.

Prakash was born on 26th March 1965 in Bangalore, Mysore, India. He belonged to a lower-middle-class family. His father’s name is Manjunath Rai who hails from the Tulu community whereas his mother Swarnalatha belongs to a Kannada community. Prasad Rai, an actor by profession, is Prakash’s brother. Prakash’s early education started at St.Joseph’s Indian High School. After completing his school education he set foot in St.Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bangalore to pursue his graduation. On the advice of K.Balachander, a Tamil film director, Prakash changed his surname from’Rai’ to ‘Raj’. Despite this fact, every one of his family prefers to call him by his original surname’Rai’
