Munawar Faruqui Biography
He was born into a Muslim family on 28th January 1992 in Junagarh, Gujarat. In 2002, the Gujarat riots forced his family to migrate to another place because their house was in total ruins. At the age of 16, Munawar lost his mother.
After his mother’s unfortunate death, his father became sick and they moved to Dongri, Mumbai. In these circumstances, he started to work in a utensil store during the daytime to look after the family. At night, he used to pursue his computer courses.
Career
In 2012, at the age of 20, he became a graphic designer. Then, he felt attracted to various comedies and chose his career as a stand-up comedian. At first, his family supported him in his endeavor, but later they ignored his efforts as they thought it was only a fruitless effort.
But his popularity as a comedian increased day by day. He even took part in a Gujarati show “Dodh Dahyo” which was his first one-hour stage performance as a comedian in Malad, Mumbai. After that, he posted his comedy videos entitled Dawood, Yamraj & Aurat on his own YouTube channel in January 2020 and gained much popularity.
Thereafter, in collaboration with famous Indian musician Spectra, he released his first official music video “Jawab” in August 2020. In the same year, he appeared in other music videos like “Nagpada Ka Rider” etc.
In 2021, Munawar along with the artist Nazz launched another music video named “Aazmaish”. Consequently, he was seen in other music videos like “Dos Lakh”, “Hunarat, Khwahish”, “Khamoshi”, “Kaamil”,” Halki Si Barsaat” etc. On 28tg February 2021, he also posted a stand-up comedy video entitled” Ghost Story” on his channel.
Besides, in 2022, he participated in Kangana Ranaut’s reality show “Lock Upp” and he became the winner on 8th May 2022. Recently, this year, he took part as a contestant in a show entitled “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 “, anchored by Rohit Shetty.
