The 2024 edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup is set to be held in the United Arab Emirates from 3rd of October to 20th of October.
The tournament was supposed to held in Bangladesh earlier but the political turmoil inside the country resulted in shifting the venue to UAE.
Top 10 women’s team will feature in the 23-match event divided in two groups of five each.
India is grouped with defending champion Australia, eternal rivals Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka in Group A while Group B has Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland.
Each team will play four group matches, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinal.
Indian Squad for 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup
India has named a strong line up with experienced Harmanpreet Kaur leading the team and she will be aided by Women’s Premier League champion Smriti Mandhana.
Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Dayalan Hemalatha, and wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosh will form the Indian batting core along with Harman and Smriti.
Pacer Renuka Singh along with spinning trio of Radha Yadav, Asha Sobhana, and Shreyanka Patil will make up the Indian bowling core.
Pooja Vastrakar and ever-reliable Deepti Sharma will take up the duties of all-rounders.
