The Indian tennis team has been drawn against Togo in the Davis Cup 2025 World Group I play-offs, as announced by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Monday.
The tie is scheduled to take place on either January 31 and February 1 or February 1 and 2 next year, with the host nation deciding the final dates.
India had secured their spot in the World Group I play-offs after defeating Pakistan 4-0 earlier in the 2024 play-offs.
However, a loss to Sweden in September dropped India back to the play-offs for the upcoming 2025 edition.
Togo, on the other hand, earned their promotion to the World Group I play-offs after a series of impressive performances.
They defeated Indonesia 3-2 in the 2024 World Group II play-offs and followed it up with a 4-0 victory over Latvia in the World Group II tie.
The ITF conducted the draws for the 2025 Davis Cup World Group I and II play-offs on Monday. A total of 52 nations will compete in 26 home-and-away ties, held in various cities across the globe on the aforementioned dates.

Two nations that lost World Group II ties in September, including Latvia and Mexico, have been promoted to the World Group I play-offs due to the revised format.
Pakistan and Mexico, both ranked 46th in the latest Davis Cup Nations Rankings, were selected to move up after a draw determined which teams would fill the additional spots in the World Group I play-offs.

The winning nations from the 2025 World Group I play-offs will advance to the World Group I ties scheduled for September, joining the losing nations from the first round of the 2025 Qualifiers.
The losing nations from the play-offs will drop down to World Group II, where they will compete against the winners from the World Group II play-offs, also set for September.
