Bangalore: The 12th edition of the IBCA World Junior and World Women Championship for the blind and visually-impaired drew to a close on the 6th of October at Bangalore.
In the Women’s section, Zsiltzova-Lisenko Lubov – Women’s International Master from Ukraine – was crowned the champion.
Poland’s Egeman Emilia and Tryjanska Emilia finished second and third respectively.
In the Junior Section, Poland’s Salamon Julia emerged victorious while compatriot Racis Micheal and Kuanyshuly Nurgisa of Kazakhstan bagged the second and third sports respectively.
India’s Megha Chakroborty, an Asian Para Game medalist, was finished in 7th spot.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Dr. Charudatta Jadhav, President of All India Chess Federation for the Blind, cited significance of the tournament.

Each match was filled with focus and determination, showing how they navigate challenges with grace. It’s inspiring to see how the game brings everyone together, proving that it’s not just about winning, but about the journey and friendships we build along the way.”
