The munch anticipated Hockey India League (HIL) will begin on the 28th of December at Rourkela with the Delhi SG Pipers taking on Gonasika in the men’s league.
Meanwhile, the Women’s HIL will commence on the 12th of January 2025 at Ranchi with Delhi SG Pipers set to play Odisha Warriors.

In the Women’s HIL, Ranchi will host all the matches barring two on the 17th and 19th of January, which will be held at Rourkela.
The finals of the Women’s HIL will be played on the 26th of January at Ranchi.
Meanwhile, action from the men’s HIL begin on the 28th of December and culminate with the grand finale scheduled for the 1st of February at Rourkela.
Road to the final
The Men’s HIL will feature eight team: Vedanta Kalinga Lancers, UP Rudras, Soorma Hockey Club, Tamil Nadu Dragons, Team Gonasika, Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers, Delhi SG Pipers and Hyderabad Toofans.
The Men’s HIL will witness 40 league matches between the 28th of December 2024 and 29th of January 2025.
Thereafter, the team ranked 1st will play the team ranked 4th in the first semifinals on the 31st of January. Similarly, the team ranked 2nd will take on the team ranked 3rd in the second semifinal on the same day.
The finals of the Men’s HIL will take place at Rourkela on the 1st of February.
Meanwhile, the Women’s HIL will be made up of four teams: Delhi SG Pipers, Odisha Warriors, Soorma Hockey Club and the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers.
In the Women’s HIL, after 12 league matches, the two teams that finish at the top of the table will face-off in the finals on the 26 of January 2025 at Ranchi.
