Harmanpreet Kaur only Indian player shortlisted for the WBBL Team of the Decade

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur is the only Indian player on the 50-player list shortlisted for the WBBL Team of the Decade. The final selection will be determined after public voting on the Big Bash App, which will run from November 11 to 24.

The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) is set to honor the greatest players in the league’s 10-year history by creating an official Team of the Decade, which will bring together the standout performers.

Kaur has played 62 matches in WBBL history for two different teams—Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder—scoring a total of 1,440 runs with a healthy average of 37.89. Additionally, she has registered seven half-centuries and played a pivotal role as a bowler, taking 36 wickets in 38 innings.

Each of the shortlisted players has played a minimum of 60 WBBL matches before the start of the current season.

Cricket Australia has appointed a selection panel of experts to tackle the challenging task of narrowing down which of the world’s best players—past and present—deserve a spot in the 12-player team.

Chaired by Cricket Australia’s Director Clea Smith, the panel includes Mel Jones, Lisa Sthalekar, Matthew Mott, Quentin Hull, Laura Jolly, and Alistair Dobson.

The panel will combine the public votes with their own selections to finalize the 12-player team, which will be announced during the WBBL Season 10 final on December 1st.
