Although there is a scarcity of horror-comedy films in the Hindi cinema Industry, in the past couple of years the genre has garnered a solid fanbase. Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy film ‘ Bhediya ‘ in this rare genre has released in the theatres on 25 th November 2022, TFW is keen on reviewing the recently released movie Bhediya

Bhediya Movie Review – Plot:
An aspiring contractor Bhaskar arrives in Arunachal Pradesh with his cousin Janardhan to get a contract for the construction of highways signed. Bhaskar has mortgaged his house to get his project. A desperate Bhaskar is keen on getting the contract.
Arriving at the place he realizes that the residents are against the idea of constructing a highway by encroaching on the territory of the forest. They start protesting. Bhaskar tries to convince them by informing them about the benefits of the development of their areas.
Meanwhile, he is cautioned by a local youth Jomin ( Paalin Kabak), and To Panda ( Deepak Dobriyal) about the impending danger lurking in the forest. While returning from the jungle one night, Bhaskar is attacked and bitten by a wolf and he, somehow, escapes and manages to save his life.
Now as the wolf is not an ordinary wolf, Bhaskar faces the consequences of its bite. He eventually gets transformed into a ferocious Werewolf. In the meantime, Panda reveals that Bishanu, an ancient Werewolf, is living in the jungle for centuries and it protects the jungle from any impending danger.
Janardhan brings the wounded Bhaskar to Doctor Anika who treats his wounds. After that, the newly transformed Werewolf wreaks havoc. Terror looms large in the entire area. Will Bhaskar be able to get back his human form? Will there be peace restored? – These are some questions that are answered in the movie.
Bhediya Movie Review – Performances of the Actors:
Talking about the performance Varun Dhawan as Bhaskar and Bhediya has done his job perfectly well.
He makes a perfect balance between the two contradictory characters. Kriti Sanon has appeared in a different avatar. She, as doctor Anika, plays a crucial role in the movie. Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal are excellent. Abhishek’s comic timing is praiseworthy. Other actors, too, have done a decent job.
Bhediya Movie Review – Loopholes
Filmmakers always consider horror- Comedy Movies to be a risky venture yet Behdiya is a bold move.
Talking about the movie’s
loopholes, the first half of the movie is slow but it gains speed after the interval. The pre-climax of the film seems unoriginal. There are a few questions that remains unanswered.
In the end of the movie, there is an indirect reference to the Stree movie.
