Asha was born on 19th July 1971 in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, Kerala, India. Krishnan Kutty, her father, is a retired employee of Travancore Rayons whereas her mother Kalamandalam Sumathi is the managing director of Natyalaya School of Classical Dance. Her mother, Kalamandalam Sumathi, won prestigious awards like Sangeetha Nataka Academy Fellowship, National Award from Akshaya, and many more for her excellent dancing skills.
Barely at the age of just 3, Asha started to learn dancing professionally. Her father and her two brothers Balagopal and Venugopal inspired her to progress further in her career. She completed her graduation from Sree Sankara College Kalady. Later in 1995, she shifted to Dubai.
Career:
Since her childhood, Asha won several awards for her outstanding dancing skills. She first appeared as an actress in the sitcom Kumkumapoovu. She debuted in the movie Friday as a supporting actress and thereafter she showed up in numerous movies as a supporting actress. She rose to prominence with the critically acclaimed movie Drishyam. Her role as IG Geetha Prabhakar impressed everyone. She was awarded Filmfare Award for best-supporting actress.
