Kalki 2898 AD Movie Review
Kalki 2898 AD is one of the Indian cinema’s biggest releases of the year. It offers a close look into a world that we would never expect to experience in reality. Additionally, as the narrative begins, the director Nag Ashwin perfectly establishes the key characters. The first half of the movie sets an interesting premise. However, it is a bit slow and will test your patience.
One drawback is that some scenes in the first half fall flat at times but the jaw-dropping climax makes up for all the flaws. But the second half is powerful and so is the climax. There are also several goosebumps moments throughout the movie. The mythological parts of the film also work well in favor. The film also has several cameos and surprise elements. Moving on to the performances, Prabhas fans will surely go wild after watching his exceptional performances. His dialogue delivery, acting skills, expressions, and every aspect will win you over.
Moreover, Deepika Padukone aptly delivers what is expected of her. Her subtle emotions and praiseworthy acting skills work well with her character’s performance. However, it is Amitabh Bachchan whose terrific screen presence will remind you why he is the Shehenshaah of Bollywood. Furthermore, Kamal Haasan as the supreme Yashkin, plays his role with perfection. Apart from them, the supporting characters also play their parts well. Disha Patani looks good with her limited screen presence.
Final Verdict
Kalki 2898 AD is a mesmerizing fictional film and a perfect definition of a grand visual spectacle. Hats off to Nag Ashwin for blending mythology and science fiction. Although there are a few scenes that fall flat and seem a bit slow, the second half makes it up. Kalki 2898 AD is recommended to watch it at the theatres. We rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
