Amit Samarth wins India’s longest cycle race from Srinagar to Kanyakumari

Ace cyclist Amit Samarth finished the IndiaOil RaceAcrossIndia 2.0 at the top position in the Solo 18 to 50 male category.

The race commenced in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir and concluded in Kanniyakumari in Tamil Nadu after covering a distance of 3758 kilometres. It was the largest cycling race in India and Asia.

Samarth, the founder of the race, finished the race in 8 days, 2 hours and 17 minutes. Fechnar from Team Poland was the second to finish in this category as he completed the race in 9 days seven days and 13 minutes.

In third and fourth place were CA Nikhil and Vishnu, who completed the race in 10 days 7 hours and 21 minutes and 10 days 12 hours and 35 minutes respectively.

Naveen finished in fifth place (10 days 15 hrs 9 minutes) while Sumer was placed sixth as he completed the challenging race in 11 days 11 hours and 50 minutes.

“IndianOil Race Across India is not just a test of your cycling endurance and speed but is a test of patience when the roads are bad, the ability to beat heat and humidity and the ability to hang on when things become tough and one’s integrity in difficult situations,” remarked Samarth.

Team Kolhapur was placed in seventh place as he took 11 days, 23 hours and 9 minutes to finish the race, while Siddharth Verma, Nikhil Bahekar, Ghosh, Vikrant Uniyal and Amit Kumar could not finish the race.

In the over 50 male category, Deepak Amin finished the race in 10 days 3 hours and 39 minutes and was placed first while team Indian Reddy.com was placed second as he completed the race 12 days 10 hours and 36 minutes.

Dilip Warkad wins 60-plus category

In the solo 60-plus male category, Dilip Warkad finished first in 12 days and 11 hours.

The team Sahyadri Tigers finished the race in 7 days 9 hours and five minutes and were first in the relay team of 2.

The Team Shivneri, comprising Om Korhale and Deepak Korhale, finished second as they completed 7 days 19 hours and 58 minutes.

Team Race To Vision was the third to finish as they completed the race in nine days 12 hrs 4 minutes.

In the relay team of 4, Team JNARDDC, comprising Anupam Agnihotri, Vipin Naik, Govinda Bhaskar, and Nitin Warhadpande, were the first to finish, in 6 days 10 hours and 35 minutes.

Team ANK SEALS TIGERS, comprising Jayant Mendhi, Sweety Malik, Mukund Kamath, Rupesh Meshram, finished the race, in six days, 12 hours and 48 minutes, and were placed second.

Team THE TUSKERS from Kenya, comprising Rupen Dullabhji Naranji Pattni, Christopher Irungu Githaiga, David Ngigi Muthoni, Sandip Dwarkadas Jethalal, finished the race in third place as they completed the race in 7 days, four hours and 32 minutes.

Team HCG-Tigers, comprising Prashant Deshkar, Vishwas Chati, Dr.Anagha Chopde, Dr. Prafulla Wankhede, were the last team to finish in seven days, 11 hours and three minutes.
