Afsana Khan is an Indian Punjabi playback singer, actress, and songwriter. She is known for her tracks “Titliaan “written by Janni & “Dhaka” with Sidhu Moosewala. Some of her hit songs include “Lara Lori”, ” Jaani Ve Janni “,”Naina De Thekey “,”Black Night”, “Tere Pyaar”,” Valipuna “,”Tere Laara” etc .

Afsana Khan Biography

Afsana was born on 12 June 1994 in Badal, Sri Mukstar Sahib, India to a lower-middle-class Muslim family.  She is now about 27 years old. Her father is Sheera Khan and her mother is Asha Begum. She has five siblings and they are Khuda Baksh, Raftaar Kaur, Raman Khan, Raja Sultaam& Nitu Khan.

She pursued her schooling at Government Senior Secondary School at Badal. Then, she completed her graduation from Chandigarh University.

Since childhood, she began singing at the local level to help her family, though she had never received any official training from any music institute. In 2012, she started her career as a participant in the singing reality show “Voice of Punjab 3 “and reached the top 5 of the show.

Then, she participated in another singing reality show “Rising Star Season 1 “as a contestant where she got listed in the top 7. Afsana shared her comment in an interview that she did not know any Bollywood songs when she appeared for the auditions of the show. She prepared the song “Jaag Suna Suna Lage “for the auditions itself and got selected for the show. After that, she sung several Punjabi songs such as “Bazaar”, “Titliaan”, “Pair “, “Kaamal Karte Ho”.

After her solo performance, she got a chance to sing in collaboration with famous singer Mani Sandhu and their duet song “Kadar “was released in 2020. In the same year, she appeared with  R Nait in the song “855”.  Consequently, she sang “Waffa” with Rana Jethuwal, “Banglow “with Avvy Sra, “Soch” with Avvy Verma, “Kisan Anthem” with Multi.

The next year, she made her voice appear in the two popular songs  “Zakham “and” Jodaa”. In the same year, in the song “Balam Ka System”, her co-singer was Fazalpuria. That year, she sang another duet “Srinagar Waliye” with Jaggi Amargarh. Besides, her collaboration with Dilnoor in the song” Koi Har “smoothened her singing career.

Up next, she lent her voice to many Punjabi songs such as  “Tere Laare”,” Hawa Karda “, “Valipuna”, “Badmashi “, “Tine Dukh”,” Tere Pyaar”, “Nakhre Jatti De “, “Maarna A Menu “, “Black Night”,” Pair “, “Gutt Utte “, “Dila Himmat Ka  ” and so on. Thus, she established herself as a famous singer in Punjab.

In 2021, she also participated in the TV reality show “Bigg Boss Season 15“, aired on Color’s TV.
