Rachakonda police bust inter-state child-trafficking gang, 11 rescued

Hyderabad: In a significant crackdown, the Medipally Police, below the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, busted an inter-Point out baby-marketing gang, rescued 11 infants and arrested 11 folks on Tuesday. The arrested consist of 8 girls who had purchased children from 3 accused from Delhi and Pune.

The arrested people were: Shobharani, Swapna, Shaik Saleem, Bandari Hari Hara Chethan, Bandari Padma, Balgam Saroja, Mudavath Sharadha, Mudavath Raju, Pathan Mumtaz, Jaganadam Anuradha and Yata Mamatha. A few other accused are absconding. All the arrested are people of Telangana and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Rachakonda Law enforcement Commissioner Tarun Joshi reported the accused marketed kids to issueless partners. The rescued little ones are aged in between one particular month and two-and-a-fifty percent months. 9 are ladies and two are boys.

The police stated the accused used to get infants from Kiran and Preethi of Delhi and Kannaiah of Pune. The trio equipped practically 50 infants to the arrested. The brokers of the accused marketed babies to persons who are in have to have of babies in AP and Telangana for a cost ranging from Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 5.5 lakh for each child aided by mediators.

The racket came to light after the police released an investigation following the arrest of Shobharani, a registered healthcare practitioner (RMP), on May 22 for promoting a little one for Rs 4.5 lakh.

The police commissioner mentioned Swapna and Shaik Saleem, who were being helping Shobharani, were being also arrested and two toddlers have been rescued from them.

The accused have been booked under Sections 370, 372,373 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 81,87 and 88 of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015. On interrogation, Shobharani discovered that she was working in coordination with Hari Hara Chetan, who was marketing the babies. Their interrogation unveiled that the infants have been remaining supplied to them by three people from Delhi and Pune for Rs 50,000 every. Kiran, Preethi, Kannaiah and other accused are absconding. The commissioner reported even further investigations are on.
