As many as 17 goals were scored in Matchweek 5 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 as the excitement around the league went up several notches after a two-week international break.

From the seventeen, we at The Bridge have collected the top five goals of Matchweek 5.

#5: Nestor Albiach, Northeast United FC

NorthEast United were on the losing side in their clash against Chennaiyin FC, but the opening goal of the match was a piece of beauty.

NEUFC worked the ball extremely well and transitioned from defence to attack in one smooth move, ultimately ending with Nestor tapping the ball into an empty net.

#4: Wilmar Jordan Gil, Chennaiyin FC

In fourth place is Chennaiyin FC’s third goal against NorthEast United. After going down 1-0, the Marina Machans responded brilliantly, scoring three goals and the third goal was all Jordan Gil.

After a powerful cross was hit straight to him, Gil controlled the ball, swerved and expertly finished it, making it 3-1 for Chennaiyin FC.

#3: Van Nieff, Mumbai City FC

Mumbai City might have several problems, but beating FC Goa is not one of them. The ISL Cup winners defeated the Gaurs 2-1, thanks to goals from Karelis and Van Nieff.

Van Nieff ran the show, with an assist and a brilliant goal from outside the box, curling it in the bottom corner that made it 2-0.

#2: Karelis, Mumbai City FC

Before turning goalscorer, Van Nieff was in action with an assist to Karelis from a well-worked set piece.

Karelis timed his run to perfection and his bullet header was placed expertly, resulting in his second goal of the season and ensuring Mumbai City got a very important win in what has been a shaky start to their season.

#1: Roshan Singh, Bengaluru FC

The goal of Matchweek 5 has to be Roshan Singh’s sublime volley against Punjab FC.

In what was a top-of-the-table clash, Bengaluru FC’s full-back made a darting late run into the box to get on the end of a cross from the right side and unleashed a beautiful volley that rocketed into the back of the net.

That was the only goal of the match, helping BFC extend their lead at the top of the ISL table.
