The Indian Paralympic contingent kicked off the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games in style winning four medals on the second day of the quadrennial event.
Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist shooter Avani Lekhara defended her title successfully and claimed the gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle SH1 category.
Preethi Pal won India’s first-ever track medal in the women’s 100m T35 sprint with a bronze medal.
With a total of five medals including one gold, one silver, and three bronze, India is placed 22nd in the medal table of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
China leads the table with a total of 42 medals.
