Avani, Siddharta, Sriharsha bow out

Avani Lekhara and Siddharta Babu bowed out of the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1 Qualifications round at the Paralympics 2024 in Paris on Sunday.

Sriharsha Devaraddi, a SH2 category para-shuttler, also made an early exit.

Avani finished 11th with a score of 632.8, missing the final by one point. However, she improved her Tokyo Paralympics performance when she finished 27th with a score of 628.7.

Siddharta, the other Indian in the fray in the SH1 category, finished 28th with a score of 628.3.

Sriharsha, competing in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH2 category, finished 26th with a qualifying score of 628.3.

Meanwhile, Slovakia’s Veronika Vadovicova broke the Paralympic record to win the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone Final with a score of 254.2 and clinched the gold medal.

The Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH2 Final is scheduled for later today.

The Asian-Para Games bronze medallist Nihal Singh-Amir Ahmad Bhat will be the only Indians in action in the Mixed 25m Pistol SH1 Qualification (Precision and Rapid) round on Monday. The final of the Mixed 25m Pistol SH1 is also scheduled on the same day.
